Compared with hart floor converings TOUCAN-T Carpets offers considerable concerning the room acoustic. Unlike most other floor coverings, textile floor covering features a significant degree of sound absorption.
Especially in large rooms (open-plan offices or team offices), reverberation effects are reduced by textile Toucan T-floors. Apart from sound insulation in a room, textile floor coverings counter the emergence of footfall sounds and further improve the footstep sound insulation.
With T-SONIC, room acoustic features of Toucan-T carpets are upgraded considerably.
The energy of the human voice usually concentrates within the range of 100 – 1,000 Hertz (Hz). Based on this fact, Toucan-T has developed the sound insulation carpet- backing T-Sonic. T-Sonic increases the practical degree of sound absorption αp by up to 0.3 and the weighted degree of sound absorption αw by up to 0.1. Using T-Sonic equipment, weighted degrees of sound absorption of up to αw 0.35 are feasible, depending on the carpet structure.
The costs that would have to be calculated for alternative acoustic measures (for example concerning furniture) would be considerably higher than the additional investment for T-Sonic.
T-Sonic is available for all Toucan-T carpets sold by the metre and for various Toucan-T SL-tiles.
